Letter-To-The-Editor Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in writing a “letter to the editor.” We hope that through this forum students are able to openly express their opinions of our community. Your viewpoint is important to us and we would love to learn about topics through a variety of different lenses. If you are interested in writing a “letter to the editor” but you are interested in a different topic, please let us know! Everyone is welcome to write in. 

Please include your first and last name, as well as your grade. Anonymous responses will not be published. 

Responses should be limited to 300 words. 

Listed below are some questions to act as guidelines for your letter. Feel free to answer as many of the questions as you would like, but you are in no way required to respond to any questions that you are not comfortable with. 

  1. Have you experienced/witnessed racism at Mounds View?
  2. How do you feel about how Mounds View has dealt/ is dealing with racism? (Please explain)
  3. What would you like students/staff to know about your experiences with racism at Mounds View?
  4. What are some ways that you have coped with/overcome racism in your life? 
  5. What changes would you like to see in our community going forward?

These questions are just a guideline. You may expand upon any of them or share anything else you feel you want to express.
